YBhg. Dato’ Ahmad Wafi bin Haji Harussani was appointed as an Authority Member for the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia on 1st December 2025. He is currently the Senior Private Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), where he provides strategic advisory support on national energy transition, water transformation, and sustainable development agendas.
With more than 20 years of distinguished service in the Malaysian Public Service, he brings deep expertise in public policy development, international diplomacy, ministerial operations, strategic communications, and multi-agency coordination. His contributions span major portfolios including energy, water, plantation and commodities, housing and local government, infrastructure, and science and technology.
YBhg. Dato’ Wafi began his public service career in 2004 at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), progressing through key positions where he represented Malaysia in international science and technology platforms, including the OIC, UNESCO, and ASEAN COST. He later served as Principal Private Secretary at the Ministries of MOSTI, Works (KKR), Plantation and Commodities (KPK), and PETRA—roles that demanded high-level policy coordination, crisis response, stakeholder engagement, and leadership of ministerial offices.
He has led complex national initiatives, supported Cabinet and Parliamentary matters, and coordinated Malaysia’s participation in global summits and bilateral engagements. His extensive involvement in international and domestic policy platforms underscores his commitment to enhancing Malaysia’s strategic positioning in sustainable development, innovation, and governance.
YBhg. Dato’ Wafi possesses a Master of Business Administration from Lim Kok Wing University, Cyberjaya; a Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), Bukit Kiara; and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) in Mechatronics Engineering from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
